US Attorney General Loretta Lynch is coming to North Carolina today. She will be in Raleigh to talk about human trafficking and then head to Durham for a roundtable event on the campus of North Carolina Central University focusing on civil rights.

It’s the Durham native’s first official trip back to North Carolina since she was sworn into office.

Starting today, a parking ticket in Durham will cost you more. City officials agree to increase the cost of certain parking violations from 10 to 20 Dollars. the increase is due to a higher demand on street parking created by a growing downtown area.

An area you may won’t to avoid is Carter-Finley stadium tonight. The Rolling Stones are in concert, an estimated 40,000 fans are expected to attend.


A new law takes effect today, the law requires registration for mopeds. It will cost 18 dollars a year plus local transit taxes. The moped registration legislation is tied to another bill which requires moped drivers to carry liability insurance.
