A massive drug sting netted fifteen people on drug charges, of the fifteen arrested, thirteen are current or former law enforcement officers. They are accused of trying to traffic drugs up and down the I-95 corridor from south Carolina to Maryland. Those arrested are scheduled to appear in federal court today. The FBI would not comment on how long the drug operation has been going on since the investigation began.
The State Senate will soon take up a bill requiring people riding mopeds to have insurance. It passed in the House yesterday, opponents say mopeds are in inexpensive way for people to get around, and some drivers may not be able to get around if they have to buy insurance.
North Carolina Central University is joining the Maker Movement. In collaboration with MIT, NCCU is opening a Fabrication Laboratory, they are the first among (HBCU’s ) to open a fully operating Fab Lab registered with the Fab Foundation’s global community of researchers, makers and innovators.
