We were a bit shocked when we heard about Chris Rock filing from divorce from Malaak Compton-Rock, his wife of 19 years.
But when we read Malaak’s statement, our eyes started to shift a bit and our spidey-sense started to tingle. We got the feeling that things weren’t going to be amicable. And with Chris Rock filing documents that indicate he has not had the access to his kids that he wants, seems we were right.
Here’s the proof that stuff was gonna get ugly:
Malaak’s statement reads: After much contemplation and 19 years of marriage, Chris and I have decided to go our separate ways. Being fortunate enough to lead a life of service by working with those most vulnerable makes me well aware of life’s blessings, even when faced with difficulties. While recognizing that this is a significant change, my children remain at the center of my life and their well-being is my top priority. It is in this spirit that I sincerely ask that their privacy and the privacy of our family be respected during this transition in our lives.”
Did you catch it?

Hmmmm….sounds like it’s all about Malaak and HER kids.
A day after her statement was issued, TMZ claimed that Chris complained that Malaak has been preventing him from seeing their 2 daughters on a regular basis. He is asking for shared legal and physical custody of 12-year-old Lola and 10-year-old Zahra.
We weren’t shocked by the discovery of the filing by TMZ. Malaak’s statement made it clear that things weren’t going to go well.
