A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned Mary J. Blige had a new album in the works. She spent the past month working in the UK on her upcoming album, “The London Sessions.” According to Mary, “the music is free over here the way it used to be in the States,” “Artists are just free to do what they love.
“The London Sessions” will feature collaborations with Disclosure as well as Sam Smith, Emeli Sandé, Jimmy Napes, Naughty Boy, Sam Romans and executive producer Rodney “Dark Child” Jerkins. Look for “The London Sessions” in the UK in November and December in the US.
Listen to the first single “Whole Damn Year.” Your thoughts, it sounds like Mary may be going through something. Mary sings, “It took a whole damn year to repair my body / It’s been a bad five years / Gone take a long, long year for me to trust somebody.”
