The Road to Greatness

Before Michelle Obama became The First Lady of the United States of America, she was the daughter of Marian and Fraser Robinson. Michelle Obama was born and raised on the South side of Chicago with her parents and older brother. She attended Princeton University where she studied Sociology and African-American studies. In 1988 Michelle graduated from Harvard Law school and became apart of Sidley & Austin law firm in Chicago, where she would meet the man of her dreams.

Michelle and Barack Obama started dating the summer he interned and she was assigned to be his advisor. After only two years of dating Barack popped the big question. The couple married at Trinity United Church of Christ on October 3, 1992.

Not only being the back bone during her husbands campaign, Michelle is a mother of two beautiful girls,  Malia and Natasha known as “Sasha”.

Out of the 46 total first ladies the United States has seen, Michelle Obama serves as the very first African American first lady. When her husband Barack Obama the first African American president in the United States took office, Michelle Obama began an administration all her own.  Mrs. Obama has far exceeded her duties as First Lady, almost reinventing the position itself.

Michelle Obama officially assumed office January of 2009 and immediately began advocating for Americans to adopt a new way of life. This new way of life promotes a total exercising of self, in every capacity. From physical exercise, to exercising your imperative right to vote Ms. Obama hopes Americans will get up and become actively involved in their country.

As women continue to make history everyday, Michelle Obama serves as a critical role model, setting both lifestyle and political standards for us all. Mrs. Obama has started her second term in office.  We honor you, Mrs. First Lady Michelle Obama.
