Winter Storm Pax blanketed Central North Carolina with several accidents, snarled traffic that left cars abandoned along the roads. Light flurries began outside our studio around 12:30pm. but by the time I left the radio station, flurries were falling hard and quick.
I thought about traveling on the Interstate, but a little voice in the back of my mind said “drive through town.” I’m glad I listened to that voice, I later learned that motorist were stuck on the interstate for hours. Throughout my journey, I had to pull over several times to clear ice from my wiper blades. By the time I arrived at my destination around 5:15pm, Winter Storm Pax had turned to sleet and freezing rain. Glad to be at home and out of the elements, eating homemade chicken noodle soup with a soda on the side!!!
