A weather system moving through central North Carolina Tuesday, will bring snow and bitter cold around the drive home this afternoon. The advisory is in effect from 4PM til midnight tonight. It will begin as rain and eventually a 50% chance of light snow with the potential for black ice.
Expect an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches throughout Central North Carolina. Areas across the Northern Piedmont and Northern Coastal plain have a higher probability of increased snowfall.
Use CAUTION while driving. A winter advisory means that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility.
