Call her Soul Sista Number 1. One of the hardest working talents around, award-winning Actress-Singer Jill Scott is tapped to play the wife of James Brown in the upcoming biopic about the Godfather of Soul. She will star opposite Chadwick Boseman in “Get On Up.” The biopic will chronicle The God Of Soul’s rise to fame, his drug addiction,arrest for domestic violence and bankruptcy.
You may recall Brown had three wives and it’s unclear which wife Scott will portray. Also joining the cast is actor Dan Aykroyd, he’ll play Ben Bart, the president of Universal Attractions. Wait there’s more, joining Aykroyd and Scott, actresses Octavia Spencer, Viola Davis and Nelsan Ellis and Tate Taylor, who directed “The Help,” will be at the helm. Talk about star power the movie, “Get On Up, is due to be released on Oct. 17, 2014.
