The Durham Public School Board is expected to discuss Superintendent Eric Becoats’ school system-issued credit card today. This will be a closed-door meeting, according to WNCN. The chair of the School Board Heidi Carter said she is “disturbed” by the spending she saw in Becoats’ credit card statements. Expenses charged to the card include rental cars, plane tickets, hotels and restaurants. These charges are associated with work-related trips. There were at least two alcohol charges on the card statement. According to DPS spokesperson Chrissy Pearson the charges for alcohol were disputed by Becoats and later removed from the bill.s
