Beginning on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, Wake libraries extended operating hours in all regional and community libraries. Hours had been shortened in 2009 due to budget reductions. In addition, libraries will offer more story times for young children, ages five and under, on Saturdays, and will add more programming for school-aged children throughout September.

The extended hours are:

Regional libraries:

Cameron Village, East, Eva Perry, North, Southeast and West

·        Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

·        Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

·        Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

Large community libraries:

Cary, Green Road, Holly Springs, Leesville and Richard B. Harrison

·        Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

·        Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

·        Closed on Sunday

Community libraries:

Duraleigh Road, Fuquay-Varina*, Southgate, Wake Forest, Wendell and Zebulon

·        Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.

·        Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

·        Closed on Sunday

*Fuquay-Varina Community Library is currently closed for renovations but will reopen in late September with new hours.
