Today come out and help support this year’s AKA Debuntante’s at a fundraiser held at the Ivy Community Center (parking Lot) located at 4222 Fayetteville Road. The fundraiser includes a yard sale from 8am-1:00pm and a fish fry from 11:00am til 3PM .

Alpha Zeta Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated sponsors the Debutante Cotillion Program to provide activities and opportunities that will assist in empowering young ladies to be successful during their transition from high school to post-secondary education. Alpha Zeta Omega Chapter is committed to providing our Debutantes and their families with a very rewarding and memorable experience. The Debutante Cotillion Program was started in 1991.

The objectives of the Debutante Cotillion Program are for the Debutantes to:

1. Participate in workshops geared towards skill enhancement, confidence building and knowledge acquisition

2. Participate in service projects which provide the Debutantes with an opportunity to use their time, talents and skills to help others within their communities

and to see the impacts that their contributions have on others and on themselves

3. Attend cultural events to expose the Debutantes to various forms of art

4. Raise money for their post-secondary education

5. Form lasting friendships with other young ladies

6. Be presented to society at an elegant and memorable Debutante Cotillion Ball

The Debutante Cotillion Program is a self-sustaining program; it is not a fundraising program for Alpha Zeta Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. All funds raised by the Debutantes are used for Debutante Cotillion Program expenses, and all net proceeds (after expenses) are returned to the Debutantes in the form of a financial award for post-secondary education.
