A winter storm warning is in effect from 6PM this evening to 4am Friday. Winter Storm Iago is on the way and look for possible snow accumulations in the Triangle and Greensboro, N.C. This wet snow could affect the afternoon and evening commute in some areas.
Rain will quickly change over to heavy wet snow this evening with an expected accumulation of 2 TO 4 inches.
The changeover will hit the Triad region early this evening and reaching the Triangle by mid to late evening. The snow will diminish after 1AM.
Temperatures will be near of slightly below freezing by early Friday morning. Roads will become slick and hazardous, especially west of the triangle. Travel will remain dangerous through most of Friday morning.
