People sell stuff online and in the papers every day with no problem. Thieves are using the Internet to lure victims on social networking and other web sites in a new robbery technique. A man advertised on Craigslist that he had phones to sell. The man met with the buyers and was pepper sprayed and robbed of his phones. Another incident, a potential buyer of an ipad was robbed of his keys and wallet.
Here are a few tips.
-Meet in a public place
-If the deal doesn’t feel right, LEAVE
-Take a family member or friend with you
-Never give out too much personal information
-Sellers should also remember to ignore offers from buyers who want to send a cashiers check from out of state or outside the country for an amount in excess of the sale price.
-BE SAFE, BE SMART
