North Carolina Central University (NCCU) in partnership with four North Carolina Historically Black Colleges and Universities will host a pre-debate discussion on Monday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Turner Law Building telepresence room. Student leaders from NCCU, Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, North Carolina A&T State University and Winston-Salem State University will meet virtually using telepresence video conferencing technology at each campus.
The pre-debate discussion will create a conversation about foreign policy, political engagement and the role of college students. The discussion will be facilitated by NCCU senior political science and English major Stefan Weathers and Dr. Jarvis Hall, associate political science professor and director of the Institute for Civic Engagement and Social Change. Foreign policy experts from each of the campuses will also participate in the discussion.
Students can virtually interact via Twitter using the hashtag #HBCUDebateChat. A Twitter feed will be fed live through NCCU.
