It’s that time of year again! The “2011 Teen Talk Lock-In ” an overnight forum of fun and exciting activities for high school youth ages 14 -17, explores the many challenges young people face in search of healthy relationships.

The 8th Annual free event will be held Friday to Saturday, December 2 to 3, 2011, 8:00 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. in the Carmichael Gym on North Carolina State’s campus. Space is limited, registration is on a first come, first served basis.

The Lock-In is made up of workshops and activities focusing on decision-making, goal setting, and other life skills pertinent to teens. Teens experience many pressures in today’s world, including appropriate ways to handle sexual health issues. A special emphasis will be given to sexuality and other related health topics, including maintaining healthy bodies physically, mentally and emotionally. Youth participants will have the opportunity to engage in honest and open discussions facilitated by trained public health professionals and youth peer educators, centering on these and related topics.

The Lock-In also features entertainment, a talent show, dancing. Free food and drink will be served throughout the night!

If you know of any interested Wake County high school students ages 14-17, we would love to see them there! This year’s registration will be done online.
