The make-up of the Wake County School Board majority is on the line Tuesday, along with a couple of mayoral races.

A runoff election will decide the winner between incumbent Wake County School Board Member Kevin Hill and Republican Heather Losurdo.

During the primaries, Losurdo got 40 percent of the vote and Hill was 51 votes shy of the majority needed to avoid a runoff.

In Durham, Mayor Bill Bell will face Democrat Sylvester Williams.

The 70-year-old Bell has been mayor of the Bull City since 2001. The 56-year-old Williams ran for city council in 2009 and is the pastor of the Assembly at Durham Christian Center.

Three city council seats are also up for grabs. And voters in the city and county of Durham will be voting on two tax proposals.
