A National Night Out event will be held tonight in Raleigh. The event aims to raise awareness of crime prevention, it runs from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Tarboro Road Community Center located at 121 N. Tarboro St. Free food will be served.
The celebration is designed to:
•Heighten crime, drug and violence prevention awareness;
•Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs;
•Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
•Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
