A heat advisory remains in effect for all of central North Carolina. Temperatures could reach 98 to 101, and the heat index 105 to 109 degree.

Prolonged exposure or any strenuous activity may lead to heat related illnesses that require immediate medial attention.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Reschedule strenuous to early morning or evening.

Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. To reduce the risk during outdoor work schedule frequent rest breaks in shade or air conditioned areas.
