It has been a tremendous ride for Oprah with chart topping Number 1 ratings for the past 25 years. Oprah transformed daytime viewing habits of America’s women with history-making interviews, toppling the competition, paving the way and proving, in the end that real power in television resided in the singular force of one Oprah Winfrey.
Today is the last day of “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” it will no doubt leave a void for the millions of viewers. Oprah’s presence ushered in the era of self-help. From Dr. Oz to Dr. Phil and Suze Orman all experts introduced and launched by Oprah replacing soap operas to shows on how to improve and better your life.
If there were no Oprah, we wouldn’t have Wendy, Tyra, Whoopi, Sherri or Monique. And to top it off she helped get Barack Obama elected president, now that’s power.
