Culprits of Failed Times Square Bomb Are Being Sought

If you were in New York over the weekend and in particularly at Times Square you were privy to more than the usual tourist attractions. Breaking news hit that a failed bomb had been located by authorities. According to multiple news feeds NYC and federal agents are searching for clues following the failed Times Square bomb attempt. They have taken a particular interest in a man seen near the explosives-laden vehicle in footage taken by a nearby security camera

Mayor Michael Bloomberg, making the morning talk show rounds Monday, warned on NBC’s “Today” that the person on the tape may not become a suspect. The hunt was on Monday for a middle-aged man who was videotaped shedding his shirt near the sport utility vehicle where the bomb was found. Authorities also wanted to talk to the owner of the 1993 Nissan Pathfinder.

“There are millions of people that come through Times Square,” he said. “This person happened to be in a position which a camera got a good shot of him, and maybe he had something to do with it but there’s a very good chance that he did not. We’re exploring a lot of leads.”
