Beginning Tuesday, July 1, most disposable vapes will no longer be legal to sell in North Carolina under House Bill 900.

The law was signed last year by former Gov. Roy Cooper and technically took effect May 1, though a 60-day grace period gave retailers time to comply.

Under the law, only vape products with FDA approval, or proof that an application has been submitted, can remain on store shelves. This change will impact many popular brands, including Lost Mary and Elf Bar.

The ban does not apply to products containing THC. Consumers should expect limited options and possible price increases as the new rules take hold.
