Chatham Community Library will host a class on hurricane preparedness on Tuesday, July 8, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Holmes Family Meeting Room. This program is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.

WHO: June began the Atlantic Hurricane Season. Join Chatham Community Library to discover how to safeguard family members during hurricanes. Individuals can engage in sessions focused on crafting hurricane emergency plans, compiling essential survival kits, and grasping the specific risks pertinent to North Carolina the Triangle region. Attendees will learn the necessary information and tools to ensure their safety and the well-being of their families in the face of impending hurricanes.

This class is taught by Chatham County Emergency Management Specialist, Katie Taggett, whose duties include public outreach, emergency planning, training, and exercises, coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies, and responding to emergency situations across the county.
