Watch ‘Coco’ Under The Stars In Durham
Durham Parks and Recreation’s (DPR) Rhythm and Reels event series continues this October with a showing of the 2017 Disney/Pixar hit Coco.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to Durham Central Park, located at 501 Foster Street, on Saturday, October 5 and grab your spot. The movie begins promptly at 7:30 PM. Registration is not required for this free event.
Coco (rated PG) follows the story of Miguel who finds himself in the Land of the Dead and must get the help of his great-great-grandfather to return him to the world of the living and bring the love of music back to his family. Inspired by the Mexican holiday Day of the Dead, Coco is a great fit for the Halloween season.
Joining us for the fun will be two food vendors: Prostsocial, which offers a wide variety of flavored ice pop treats, and La Republica Food Truck serving delicious Mexican eats like tacos, nachos, quesadillas and burritos!
Our Rhythm and Reels series began back in June as a way to bring the community together for some summer fun with a trio of concerts in three of our parks. September began the movie portion of the program, and Rhythm and Reels comes to an end on November 2 when we will show High School Musical at Durham Central Park. Visit www.dprplaymore.org/318 for the full Rhythm & Reels schedule.
