The 2016 Academy Award nominees have been announced and the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton picked up one nod. The movie is nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Straight Outta Compton is going up against “Bridge of Spies, “Ex Machina, “Inside Out”, and “Spotlight”. Fans are looking side-eyed that SOC did not get BEST Picture nod.
Also nominated, the documentary “What Happened, Miss Simone”? The 88th Academy Awards air Feb. 28 and will be hosted by Chris Rock.
