Head Lice In NC Now Resistant To Common Treatments

With school starting soon, parents certainly don’t want to hear the word lice.
But a new study shows that the bugs are becoming resistant to common treatments. Lice can be spread from head to head contact, by sharing hats and brushes, or even sitting on a couch or chair that has lice on it.
The typical treatment is an over-the-counter shampoo containing insecticides called pyrethroids, but the new strain of lice appears to have developed a genetic resistance.
