Civil rights leaders will gather in Raleigh today to announce the bills they want state law makers to support. The state NAACP and the Forward Together Moral Movement are calling for support expanding Medicaid, raising the minimum wage, restoring voting rights and funding to public education, fair taxes, environmental protection, women’s health, and challenging so-called “religious freedom” bills.
The day will begin with training at First Baptist Church at 9:00 AM on the issues of the moral agenda, how to advocate for bills that support the agenda.
