Winter Storm Said To Be Responsible For Several Deaths (thumbnail)

The heavy snow fall leaves thousands in the Triangle without power. Power outages continue to increase across the Triangle and the state. More than 78,000 Duke Energy customers are without power in Wake County, and another 34,000 in Durham are in the dark. Statewide, more than 186,000 customers are without service.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon today, look for a mixture of snow with sleet and freezing rain tapering off during the morning hours. An accumulations of 4 to 8 inches of snow and sleet is expected.

RDU is down to one runway if you plan on flying today, about 100 flights have been canceled through early morning until noon.

You should contact their airline to confirm the status of their flight.
