Bill Cosby might be 76, but he shows no signs of slowing down. His recent comedy documentary Far From Finished was proof of that. He’s still touring the country with his patented brand of comedy – the kind that’s kept him in business over a 50 plus year career.

You can catch up with The Cos in person this summer as he’s touring all around the country through November. You can also purchase Far From Finished here.

Cosby will receive the Johnny Carson Award for Comedic Excellence at the American Comedy Awards airing tonight at 9 p.m. on NBC.

“Johnny was always good to me,” Cosby says. “From the inside, I don’t see me. I just see all these young people. The guy started to do my life and I said ‘Wait a minute, I’m still vertical.’

Cosby said Dick Gregory was essential to his career. He was one of the first Black comedians to appear on the original Tonight Show and was an instrumental part of the civil rights movement. When he told Cosby to join him, Cosby was initially reluctant, given that Gregory returned from a protest with“lumps on his head.”

But Gregory did give him some great advice.

“Make your name a household name,” Cosby says Gregory told him. That’s advice the Cos obviously took.
