Man Performing Sign Language At Mandela’s Memorial Called A Fake

According to reports out of South Africa this morning, the man performing sign language on stage with world leaders at Mandela’s Memorial Service yesterday was a fake. According to WTVD, the man’s hand signals were meaningless. South Africa’s government has said that it’s preparing a statement.

The national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa came forward to say that the unidentified man was not performing sign language.
