I had an opportunity to attend a special screening of the movie “Black Nativity,” based on the Langston Hughes play. Black Nativity opens nationwide November 27, with a star-studded cast featuring Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, Tyrese Gibson, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Jacob Latimore, Vondie Curtis-Hall, and Nas. Writer/Director Kasi Lemmons ( Eve’s Bayou, The Caveman’s Valentine and Talk to Me) talks about her concept in directing Black Nativity.
