This Saturday, the City of Durham celebrates its tenth year of fun-filled family entertainment with Phoenix Fest on historic Fayetteville Street.

Activities kick off with a 9 am parade beginning at Elmira Avenue and ending at Piedmont Avenue. Parade favorites include the Hillside High School Marching Band (Durham, NC), Southern High School Marching Band (Durham, NC), Lowe’s Grove Middle School Drumline, the Edmondson Village Steppers Marching Band (Baltimore, MD), the New Baltimore Twilighters Marching Band (Baltimore, MD), Durham Beauty Academy, Bull City Riders Motorcycle Club, Throttle Hawks Motorcycle Club, Goodfellas Motorcycle Club, the Rocking Red Hatters, Durham Raiders, National Council of Negro Women Youth Division, Golden Honeys Motorcycle Club, Women Wear Pants Too Inc., James E. Shepard LaSertoma Club, and many other community organizations and clubs.

After the parade, visit the vending bazaar and listen to all-day music from 11 am until 6 pm. Headliner Bobby Hinton is back, Family Sircle, Mighty Gospel Inspirations, Patty Denny, Prime Ingredient, Stan Malette, Kentisha, Sista 1, the Pat Taborn Modeling Agency and many more.
