The Cornel West Academy of Excellence is proud to present the “2011 Black Male Identity Summit.” The event will be composed to panel discussions to identify solutions to building up the identities of young Black and Brown boys. The Cornel West Academy of Excellence (CWAE) is a program started to address many of the needs of minority male students in Wake County in the 2nd – 5th grade. Academics, self-esteem, strategic and critical thinking, and philanthropy are key areas that will be addressed. The academy currently provides its services to 35 young minority male students and it’s open to young men from surrounding counties.
