A caretaker for autistic children in Johnston County was in jail this morning after authorities said he left three autistic children alone in a care home.
Steven Devon Allicott, 34, of 1411 Windy Crest Court, Raleigh, was arrested Monday night and charged with three counts of misdemeanor child abuse, according to arrest warrants filed in the Wake County Magistrate’s Office.
Allicott is accused of leaving the three children, all under the age of 16, alone for two hours on Sept. 6 in an unnamed skilled-care home for autistic and special-needs children in Johnston County, the warrants state.
