1941: ‘Take the A Train’ was recorded by Duke Ellington & his orchestra.
2. The Marcels
1961: The Marcels recorded ‘Blue Moon’ on this day. The record reached number one on the Billboard Pop chart for three weeks and number one on the R&B chart.
