Stuart McDonald writer of Elev8.com voices his doubts and concerns on whether or not he is actually ready for love in his article entitled, “I Am Ready For Love…Or Am I? McDonald creatively manipulates and analyzes four lines in the first stanza of the India Arie’s Ready for Love.

Despite India Arie eloquently professing that she is ready for love, McDonald still may not be convinced that he is ready for love. McDonald interjects and splashes reality all over the song.

For example, when India proclaims she is ready for love McDonald responds with love and marriage is hard work. He intertwines love and marriage as one and says there are so many marriages that have gone bad versus good marriages that he has doubt and fears he is ready.

However, as I am in lost in the rhythm and the words of India Arie’s song, I believe if only McDonald had responded to the whole song, he may be ready for love.

Why? Because, India sings even through pain she is ready. She sings knowing that she needs to have patience to make a relationship work, she is ready. She sings knowing that being faithful, kind and trustworthy are key elements as well, but, she is ready. She even sings about the man that she is ready to love.

Nevertheless, the question lies, Are You Ready for Love?

You Decide!
