Seattle, Washington Graydon Smith, a 31-year-old Washington man, was arrested for allegedly forcing his pregnant 19-year-old girlfriend to sign an abuse contract so he could continue to beat her up. Why is a 31-year-old man dating a 19-year old to begin with?
According to the Seattle Police Department, police were first called to the home of Smith’s parents on April 28 after his teenage girlfriend reported that Smith had threatened to kill her.
The teen said Smith had previously assaulted her and knew he would continue to abuse her because he had insisted she sign a contract that would permit him to abuse her on any part of her body except her pregnant belly.
Investigators say police were again called to the home on May 24 following an assault complaint by Smith’s stepfather. The stepfather told officers Smith tried to punch him in the face but only managed a glancing blow. The altercation preceded another assault in which Smith choked his teen girlfriend for about 10 seconds.
The teen was able to get out of the house while police were there and told officers she had been beaten by Smith. She was bleeding from the face and had a contusion on the back of her head.
Smith was booked into the King County Jail on charges of second-degree assault, two counts of fourth-degree assault and two counts of felony harassment. His bond was set at $100,000.
