What is the value of a community media outlet for a community-minded town like Durham? In this age of media consolidation and an ever growing digital divide, Durham Community Media represents an electronic green space free from commercial and political influences. Durham Community Media on Time Warner Cable Channel 18, Durham’s only public access TV station and community media center, is asking Durham city and county officials for funding in their latest budgets.
