TMZ reports that according to a representative for Beverly Peele, “Both Mom and daughter were taken by ambulance to UCLA Medical Center and into intensive care with multiple fractures and injuries. They together remain hospitalized in excellent hands, awaiting further testing, and treatment.” Former supermodel Beverly Peele was critically injured in a car accident Monday evening and is in “very serious condition” at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, reports TMZ.
A contemporary of Naomi Campbell, By the mid-1990s Peele had retired from modeling. Television (Girlfriends and Sister, Sister) and film (Sweet Friggin’ Daisies) appearances followed, although she was most recently in the media spotlight for identity theft. In 2006 Peele was sentenced to three years probation and 300 hours of community service for stealing credit card information and buying merchandise worth several thousand dollars.
