Nushawn Williams, who became known as a one-man AIDS epidemic more than a decade ago, when he admitted in 1997 to having unprotected sex with numerous girls and women despite being told he was HIV positive. Officials stated that Williams had sex with up to 47 women in Chautauqua County and at least 28 more in New York City. Williams, who has boasted openly in the media about his sexual promiscuity, told the New York Times that his actual number of sexual partners was up to 300. Williams youngest victim was only 13.

Well as bad luck would have it Mr. Williams has completed his prison sentence, which was a mere 12 years.  It’s sickening to think that like most inmates Williams is probably anxious to see daylight so undeservingly.  In a much-needed turn of events he could be kept in custody indefinitely. New York attorney general Andrew M. Cuomo moved to block Williams’ release, and place him under civil confinement under a statute aimed at predatory sex offenders.

In preparation for the drastic measure, a state psychiatric examiner has diagnosed him as antisocial, psychopathic and capable of infecting more young women with HIV, the deadly virus that leads to AIDS. Williams, who now goes by the name Shyteek Johnson, remains behind bars in Wende Correctional Facility, Alden. To free this man would be a crying shame and a sheer travesty; this man is a plague on our society. Does this man deserve to ever see the light of day? Let your friends over at FoxyNC know what’s on your mind.
