You may recall the horrifying news of the gang rape of a 7 –year-old girl in Trenton New Jersey who was under the care of her 15 year old sister while attending an adult party of sorts. Since then the police have been hot on the case and have began rounding up the suspects and any witnesses to help solve the case and bring forth a resolution.

Now it is being said that the two youngest men who were arrested may have been coerced to confess due to the mounting pressure on the shoulders of the police department. The boys have also implicated others in the case during the police interrogations.

Two men in particular 20-year-old Gregory Leary and 19-year-old Timear Lewis as well as three boys, ages 13, 14 and 17, have been charged with rape at the March 28 party. The girl’s sister, who police say sold her to the men during a party in a vacant apartment, was charged with promoting prostitution, aggravated sexual assault and other crimes.

Four days after the party, the 13- and 14-year-old who live near the gritty public housing complex where police say the assault took place were brought in for questioning.

Represent the 17- year- old is now insisting that the police put words in his client’s month. It’s hinted that the police suggested tricky tactics that led the young man to believe he would not land in direct trouble himself. “Whatever they are agreeing to, it is with the expectation that they go home when they are done,” Main said.

Trenton police spokesman Sgt. Pedro Medina declined to comment on the investigation Wednesday other than to say that more arrests were expected.
