Talk show host Tavis Smiley continued to maintain his innocence against sexual misconduct allegations during a recent appearance on Fox News show ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight.’

The investigation PBS launched against Smiley led to the suspension of his show a week ago, a move the 53-year-old called a “huge mistake.”

Now Smiley is defending the consensual relationships he had with colleagues throughout his career.

“Let’s face it, nobody is working 40-hour weeks anymore, we are working 40-, 50-, 70-, 80-hour weeks. Where else are you going to meet people in this business?” Smiley explained.

“Our business itself is full of people, producers and talk show hosts who met on the job,” he added.

Smiley said he wouldn’t deem any of his relationships inappropriate, and called PBS out for their “sloppy investigation.”

“I was never told what the accusations were, who the accusers were. I was never allowed to provide any data or evidence to debunk anything that perhaps I could have debunked if I had known what we were talking about anyway,” he said.
