Louisiana Sheriff Newell Norman, claps back at people who criticized him for the way he handled the Joe McKnight shooting investigation. McKnight is the former NFL player who was killed by Ronald Gasser, in an alleged road rage incident that left McKnight dead. The shooter Gasser waited for police to arrive on the scene, handed over his weapon and was handcuffed and arrested.

Well, things took a turn for the strange at some point that night. Normand releases Gasser and then held a press conference in which he defended not only his decision to release him, and ordered officers to sit outside of Gasser’s home to protect the killer.

Good news Gasser was finally arrested and charged with manslaughter on Tuesday. Sheriff Normand held another bizarre press conference where he read emails that people allegedly sent to public officials. During the press conference, the conversation turned racial and Normand says black people are more likely to be killed by black people in his community.

Is this another indication of the Trump effect?
