After opening the BET Awards Sunday night, Beyonce left the event. When she received awards later during the show, her mother, Tina Lawson accepted them on her daughter’s behalf.

During her acceptance of the first award, Miss Tina said that Beyonce had to leave to catch her flight to London for a concert that night. But, social media being the way it is, folks fact-checked Beyonce’s mother and Miss Tina promptly responded:
