A Chicago neighborhood is reeling after a 28-year-old man was cut down by a gunman’s bullet while he unknowingly recorded his last breath.

In a Facebook video posted to the Chicago Tribune’s website, 28-year-old Antonio Perkins can be seen on camera enjoying a summer evening outside with family and friends on Wednesday.

At around 8:45 p.m., shots suddenly ring out and Perkins falls to the ground with his phone in hand. Visible traces of blood can be seen on the grass.

As the video goes black, you can hear loved ones shouting, “Tony, c’mon Tony,” encouraging him to breathe. You also hear distressed cries, as they repeatedly say, “We love you.”

Police eventually respond to the scene as the video ends.

Perkins was pronounced dead on Wednesday evening at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Chicago police continue to investigate the crime.
