Today is Marla Gibbs birthday. Born Margaret Theresa Bradley, she’s an American actress, comedian, singer, writer and producer. I had the pleasure of meeting the talented actress at the Black Theater Festival in Winston Salem several years ago. Gibbs, known for her quick wit as Mary Jenkins on the TV series 227, and Florence Johnston on “The Jeffersons”, whose career spans five decades.
