There has been lots of backlash after this year’s Oscars nominees were unveiled. For the second year in a row, no people of color were represented in the distinguished group of acting nominees.
Jada Pinkett Smith, whose husband Will was snubbed for his role in Concussion, took to Twitter to vent.
Even the host of this year’s awards, Chris Rock, has joked about the lack of diversity. He referred to the show on social media as “The White BET Awards.”
The Academy President, Cheryl Boone Isaccs also expressed disappointment.
