Candy Carson, the wife of neurosurgeon and presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson is revealing her journey through poverty and joy in her new book, A Doctor in the House: My Life with Ben Carson.
The Detroit native talks to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about the book, marrying a young Ben Carson and what she hopes the American people will see in her husband.
“He was a person that had is head on his shoulders. He and his roommate they were sure of themselves, confident. They had an understanding that some of us didn’t have,”
Going from the Democrat to Republican:
“He was a Democrat. But helping people to remember the American dream, that was something he always had. When it came time to run, he felt the Republican party had more in line with his beliefs.”
On the media’s criticism of her:
“I haven’t seen it. I guess it’s not affecting me. I focus on trying to get issues out to the people.”
