A white man in Texas made national news last week and received financial donations after claiming that his truck had Black Lives Matter spray-painted on it. Scott Lattin said he belived his truck was targeted because he had pro-police messages on it.
Turns out he was lying and vandalized his own truck. Police arrested him.
Apparently, police captured video of the damage to the truck when they took their initial report. However, when the story was covered by local media, police noticed additional damage to the vehicle that wasn’t present before.
