There are several events taking place in the Triangle today that you might want to check out.

CaribMask is happening in downtown Raleigh today. What is this event? Just think West Indian music, food, live performances and a parade and you’ll be putting on your shoes to head downtown. The event is free and kicks off at noon. Festival Village at City Plaza will display the latest Caribbean artists, entertainers and music. The village will be lined with vendors of arts and crafts, Caribbean cuisine and cultural exhibits in the midst of lots of dancing. There will also be a CaribMask Kid’s corner with steel drum lessons, storytelling and arts and crafts.

 

 

Cary’s Lazy Dayz Arts & Crafts Festival is taking place from 8:45 A.M until 5 P.M. today around the Town Hall Campus.  The event includes all kinds of activities for all ages: Five stages with entertainment; a beer and wine vending area; more than 20 food vendors; a Little Jerry Doll scavenger hunt; a cultural arts row; and the screening of a youth video project featuring original documentaries.

The Kid’s World area will feature free live entertainment, games and activities for kids. You’ll find it in the common area between Town Hall and the Cary Police Department and Technology Services building.

The Love South Durham Festival is taking place today from noon until 3 P.M. at Pearsontown Elementary School in Durham. The free event is sponsored by South Durham Church. There will be free food, games, face painting and more. The church is encouraging a donation of school supplies to befit students at Pearsontown and Southwest Elementary schools.
