A Zebulon man, faces murder charges after his vehicle swerved off a Johnston County road late Sunday and into a crowd of bystanders, killing four people.
The bodies of a mother and her teenage daughter were found inside a burning apartment in Sanford Monday afternoon. Firefighters were called to the area after a neighbor smelled a strong odor of gasoline. The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the cause of the fire and the women’s deaths.

State lawmakers will discuss a bill that could toughen laws for ride tampering. Two year ago, a family was seriously hurt on a ride at the North Carolina state fair. Lawmakers will discuss if the punishment for such a crime should be harsher in hopes of preventing a similar incident from happening again.
